Oh shit! I never had mine sent in to see how much it would cost but damn that is a lot.

...what you can try is putting the drive in a ziplock freezer bag and putting it in the freezer for a few hours. Take it out and try to boot it up. The 'clicling' sound is the drive wheel sticking and keeping it cold can un-stick it long enough to recover some data. It's worth a shot.
