Looks like im a bit late on the discussion.. but here is what i got to say about it.. Its based on a small research i had my assistant to for me.. Since we also had a few people inquire about this due our Upcoming expo.. here you go:

The Zika virus is no an impediment to travel to Colombia and attend Lalexpo. The virus emerged in Uganda (Africa) and appeared 70 years later in Latin America (2014).

Symptoms
Fever, rash, joint pain, or conjunctivitis (red eyes). Other common symptoms include muscle pain and headache.

It is not true:
- Does not spread by sneezing.
- It does not spread from person to person by kissing or greet hand.
- It is not sexually transmitted.
- Does not spread through breastfeeding.
- Do not spread by using cutlery and / or dishes from a person with the disease.
- It is not transmitted by food in warm or hot earth.

It is true:
- The virus is transmitted by the mosquito Aedes albopictus and Aedes aegypti
- Can be transmitted from mother to unborn child.
- If you get the virus you must to rest, hydration and management of fever with acetaminophen.

Recommendations:
- Use repellents approved by the EPA insect repellents.
- Drinking water treated, filtered and / or bottled.

The Zika virus is now being locally transmitted in Aruba, Barbados, Bolivia, Bonaire, Brazil, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Saint Martin, Suriname, U.S. Virgin Islands, Venezuela, American Samoa, Samoa, Tonga and Cape Verde,
The Aedes albopictus, or Asian tiger mosquito, which along with Aedes aegypti transmits Zika virus, is present in many parts of the United States.
In Colombia specially Cartagena the Dadis Says: ?The cases have been declining due the Elimination of breeding sites for the Aedes Aegypti mosquito transmitter of the disease?

Travel to Colombia and attend Lalexpo is 100% safe, so here we are waiting!
