It creates a mentality that "one day, I might be lucky and do this great thing!" No, you will not randomly be lucky.
Surgeons are not lucky that they save lives. Firemen are not lucky that they put out deadly fires. Athletes are not lucky that they scored a crucial goal.
Put your nose down and do some work, then you just might do the great thing that you dream of.
