The govt. didn't "think" a video caused it. They KNEW what had happened.
That email from Hillary to Chelsea the very night of the attack even said that the FACT that it was a terrorist attack was problematic because they were only 56 days away from the election between Romney and Obama.
Which makes it clear that their decision to lie and say it was a "video" was based on not giving Romney any ammunition in the campaign against Obama (Obama had announced a few months earlier that Al Queda was pretty much finished...and then the attack was an Al Queda group which would have made him look bad).
AGAIN...what if that had been YOUR wife or son or daughter. And you had Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton at a casket ceremony handing YOU the flag and then lying to your face about what really happened???
Would you be so quick to justify that lying woman under those circumstances?

Was there a video released the day before? Yes. Was there a security thread issued to the embassies? Yes. Was there a protest? Yes. Was there a terrorist attack? Yes.
When the attack initially occurred they had limited, partial information. All they knew was a video was released, a warning was issued to embassies, and an attack occurred. That was the information they decided to release. Seems to me everything Hillary Clinton told us.... Was in fact completely true.
Our government cannot always come forth with all of the facts the moment they know them. During a terrorist attack or a military operation, they routinely withhold information. It's really no different than a police investigation; They tell us as little as they can until they know the full story. And what little they told us seems to be completely true.
MEANWHILE.... The Bush Administration hid forty pages of the 9/11 report that most likely directly implicated Saudi Arabia and their involvement in it, yet you are focused on something that is minor and insignificant.
