building aparatus like that is like building foundation for new type of rules - which is dictatorship.
such aparatus built in secrecy (not anymore) and without any oversight is dangerous and will make citizens- state relations not like subject- subject relations, but rather object (citizen) - subject (state) relations.
I don't know about you, but for me its not OK. Yeah I know..if you are British I may understand why your country is like that
on the other hand I would add and clarify that my views doesnt mean that I say that we should be "tolerant" for DEDICATED bad guys, criminals or dedicated fanatics that only want to destroy our current lives. actually, we should show them less mercy than now.
