Lol at the European traffic skim theory as well. Did it ever occur to you that an American site does not convert as well in that Region due to creative's, tour, etc all being in English instead of whatever language is spoken in these countries? Basically the entire user journey is fucked, so yes your conversions in turn will probably be fucked too.
Not to mention the billing infrastructure is completely different. Carrier billing is pretty popular in Europe, pulling out your card for porn seems like an inconvenience.
