If you spend so much on a Mac get parallels.

For $99 a year use parallels and run Linux, Windows, and other linux distros all at the same time. Even drag and drop.

Copy and OS multiple times, trash it, delete it, make another copy.

This.

Our accounting has a Mac and is running Parallelles so Windows and OSX can operate at the same time. I was so skeptical, but now I'm amazed . It. works. perfectly.

Agreed. Most PC's are just slapped together bits and pieces. I bought an Alienware to avoid this and so far have received "ok" service, but nothing compared to Apple.

And like you, the iMac that I am typing this on now is from 2009. It's FAST and works perfectly.

If its too expensive for you then don't buy it, sheese! Get an iMac for $1399 instead, or a Mac Mini for $599 and connect your own monitor. There are many options.

And sorry dude, but support is important. You and I don't buy computers just to play games, we rely 100% on them for our businesses. They *HAVE* to work. And if something goes wrong, we need Fast, instant, expert support. It's a necessity, period.

Ditto. But then again, iMovie is a simple tool made for people who want to edit home videos included with the OS for free. FCP is a professional system that's purchased separately. Night and day...

peace.
