I guess what I don't understand is why peeps who know him in real life don't force the situation.
Dude needs some fucking crisis intervention and so many peeps just to seem to find it amusing.
Not judging his friends or family, gawd knows no one can stop anyone hell bent on self destruction. That said, at the very least I'd be calling 911 to put dude on 72 psych hold every time he goes on a bender and starts talking about offing himself.
He exhibits behavior that places him at very high risk, it's like watching a fatal car crash in slow mo. There's nothing funny about any of this.
A 72 hr psych eval every time this occurs would also serve to take whatever 'glamour' he finds in all this out of the equation as well. Get fucked up and threaten self-harm and end up in a locked hospital ward with no shoes in a monitored room. As many times at it takes.
Actions => consequences
Addicts are in love with their sadness and covet their self-imposed alienation. They are always the victim, no one understands them, they are delicate flowers ill equipped to cope with the cruelty of life blah blah blah.
That's why they're such 'rebels' in their own minds, when really it's just them not being able to handle ish we all do for fun, AFTER we finish our work. They just can't see it because they are deeply sick. The addiction has taken control of their thought processes.
But yeah, nothing entertaining about any of this.
