He does think it will change. Even after the most radical President ever was blocked at every turn. Trump = 4 years of nothing changing.

Do you know the extent of job losses that will be created by a balanced budget?
What happens if China decides to stop buying US Bonds or decides to start invading territories they claim are there's?
The political process has been controlled by businessmen for decades. Follow the money.
And there's the problem. The US has been run for the benefit of the people who fund/bribe the politicians. There's absolutely no benefit in buying all the cheap goods a Third World Nation can produce and building it into a First World Economy with an Armed Forces large enough to start WW3. So why was it done?
Look who makes the profits from moving jobs to the East. The problem now is getting those jobs back, slowing down the imports, when the Nation you're going to anger holds more cards than you would like. Trump will lose that battle. Mostly because voters won't pay $1,000 for an iPhone or $300 for a keyboard or $5,000 for a laptop of the basic level. (The prices are to indicate the difference in prices and not accurate.)
Open the bonnet of an American made car and see all the cheap Third World parts that are keeping the price down. Ask people who were around when everything was produced in the US. Life was far simpler because everything was far more expensive.
And this was created by the Right Wing and businessmen.
