I have sites with ratio 1:200 , but not much traffic, so overall they don't make a lot of $$, and i had sites that converted 1:2000 but had tons of traffic and made a lot of money.

You need to have a premium quality content that cost a lot to produce, and to do a lot of work with promotion.

I would suggest you focus the first period only on traffic, don't push banners/pops etc to much in the beginning. You need to focus on your own users, before you make money out of it.
Once you have a solid amount of traffic, you can think about monetization.

But yes, you can still can make money with adult these days!

Don't try to get started with old, regurgitated content. Or worse yet, stolen content. I think it's too late to make money with "copycat" websites too. Everybody and there brother has tried to re-invent the "porn" wheel, when kids these days have moved on to hover boards anyways...

If you create the same crap as everyone else then you will fail. You have to create content people want to pay for. You also need to have traffic of course but that is a different set of skills.
