Paul: get a small server somewhere, like AdultKing suggested, and then spend $30 on a little tool called GoodSync.

Install GoodSync on your computer.
Create a local folder on your computer called "Specials" (or whatever you want)
Create a new "Job" and have sync "left to right" (left is your hard drive, right is the server)
In the new job, set to sync "specials" to a folder on your server. You can supply it with the username and password.
Put whatever files you want into the folder on your computer and click the Sync button in GoodSync and walk away. It will keep whatever you want synced between your computer and the server.
