Trump's appeal isn't what the money men behind the politicians want to hear. Unless they're in the Arms business. He wants to reduce migration and imports to give higher wages to Americans, wants to break up cushy trade deals that only benefit the rich and so on.
The reason for this is clear. Over 50 years the job losses and decimation of wages has made life harder for most working class and middle class Americans.
When politicians stop listening to the people, they will listen to anyone offering an alternative. Even batshit crazy has a chance.
