it's not like there are many options...
1. let them die in the streets
2. treat them for free (status quo)
3. subsidize their insurance, so some sign up and at least contribute something to their health care costs...
4. take steps to reduce illegal population
5. take steps to legalize illegal immigrants
option 3 is actually pretty decent, and offers least political resistance...
