There's the Republican argument again, equating things that get us from point A to B, like cars -- and things that are made to kill people quickly, like assault rifles. They're not the same thing. You can't drive your AR 15 to work, so it's not an essential part of your life and is not the same thing as a car just because cars kill people also.
