After 20 years of uncontrolled migration, the UK is in trouble. There aren't enough affordable houses.
It will cost £200,000 per unit to build a decent home to fill the massive shortfall. They need to build 1 million to start catching up and 100,000 per year to fill the growing demand.
This will be for people who can't afford to buy, so it will have to be the taxpayer or more debt.
Do the maths.
So I'm for LEAVE. There have to be strict controls on migration. So those who earn enough to be self-supporting, will bring wealth in, provide a needed skill can come. But here's the two sides of the debate I heard last time I was in the UK.
I went to attend a family wedding. My family are all middle class now, earn their own homes, have very well paying jobs, well most of them. Their argument was who will do the jobs the brits won't? Like pick fruit, build houses, pick up the rubbish, home help. As if before we had millions of migrants these jobs were never done.
Sunday we visited Camden Market. It was a rarity to walk into a shop and find a Brit serving, went to the pub served by a Polish girl, to a Restaurant, served by a Lithuanian, got a taxi, driven by an Asian, and phoned Eva's brother to see if he had time to come over. He was driving a van and had to go home where his unemployed Polish GF was looking after their kid.
They all count as contributing because they have a job.
The Remain Camp try to convince people the UK will throw out people like me, doctors, nurses, etc.
