I don't know why it's such a mystery how he died. It's obvious he didn't apply the parking brake hard enough, but rather 'just enough to hold the car a few seconds' and while the car was held there running in neutral, he got out to either check his mail (mail box was behind car) or get something out of the trunk. As he did, the slight grip the brakes had on the car finally slipped and the car rolled into him, pinning him into the wall. Dumb casual mistake and such a waste of a talented life.
