Ever hear of the legal precedent of Reasonable Suspicion
In case you haven't read all about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reasonable_suspicion

Firearms purchases deferred or refused sales would most likely be upheld as constitutional if a facial constitutional challenge was made in the US Federal Courts; That is why the NRA and their political allies are so obstinate in opposition and their supporters are getting their panties in a bunch -- they know they would lose in the courts so they scream foul in the court of public opinion.

The ACLU has chosen to oppose the proposed new gun laws for reason that the no fly lists are not 100% true and correct. The ACLU are not really supporting the right to bear assault rifles https://www.aclu.org/second-amendment the ACLU is in opposition to these 'hazardous' persons' lists -- what alternative do they offer?

Bottom line is: no one really needs to buy firearms made for killing people NOW, on the spot, for cold cash.

I would like to see a waiting period of 10 days on high capacity and fast discharge rifles and handguns. People on the no-fly and other law enforcement list for the duration of a terrorism crisis that we know have should be refused sales of firearms. Any new law requiring these steps should sunset and need to be re-enacted by the legislature -- all laws are subject to judicial review in this country that is DUE PROCESS.

I own firearms legally and I do not want a draconian absolute ban on firearms ownership by citizens. However, I have no interest in arming terrorists or hot heads looking for revenge.

That said; I was looking at buying a new 7.62mm NATO bolt action with a scope. I don't need to buy an assault rifle. Need be I'll get a few of those for free
