The SOVIET Occupation of the Baltic states. They were welcomed with open arms too?
Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact. Look it up
The Imperial Russia took possession of Crimea by force violating the Treaty of Küçük Kaynarca (1774)
the Czars then Stalin deported the Crimean Tartars Look it up!
Khrushchev decides to give the Crimea to his countrymen of the Ukraine SSR
Putin takes it back by force (involuntary annexation)
Putin then holds 'free' elections (after the opposition flees).
Maybe, the USA should invade Ontario and after the Canadians that want to flee west and north do so -- hold 'free' elections. maybe 51% of those that decide to stay will vote for the annexation. But wait, first we need to resettle millions of US citizens in the Canadian lands we take before the vote -- got to guarantee a win. SAME SHIT.
You OK with that?
Crimea was 20% populated by Crimean Tartars who we forcibly deported by Stalin. As usual ethnic Russians migrated to 'balance' the population in favor of the Soviet state's policies and agenda. Ethic Greeks and Bulgarians were also deported from the Crimean Peninsula at the same time.
“If you're explaining, you're losing.” ― Ronald Reagan, He's probably right right -- I am beating on a boulder with a baseball bat.
Reactionaries are illogical. They are uneducated and listen to youtube CT stories and propaganda from all sides -- then weigh the false evidence favoring their own prejudices and learned empirical evidence -- like I said "like beating on a rock"
And this is why NATO and the Russia are doing a war dance ... they are reactionaries and opportunists. Mainly they are reacting out of fear but more importantly probably need to distract their respective populations from their own domestic issues -- the usual reason governments do this saber rattling dance and starting the occasional war. The merchants of death make fortunes this way off reactionary fools
