The Republican committee unanimously agreed that pornography is dangerous, claiming in the platform, ?Pornography, with all its harmful effects, especially on children, has become a public health crisis that is destroying the life of millions.?
As The Daily Beast details, the ?science? the GOP sites is pretty bunk, with no real evidence to suggest that the porn industry is destroying millions of lives. Earlier this year, we saw a Republican State Senator in Utah make similar public health allegations against porn, though his personal moral views seemed to be the real driving force.
For a party that pledges to protect your personal freedoms, it sure has a lot to say about what you can and can?t do in the privacy of your own home.
