Against good Continental teams, he will come unstuck. His defence strategy is only as good as the players he can pick. Sadly he's short on talent in that area.
At the moment our best players are the forwards, often left isolated as the back four pass the ball between each other and when it goes to the midfield, they pass it back to the back four again.
Which all works fine for teams who have great passers. So sucks for England.
Th opposition are confident England won't cause them any problems, so come forward and test the defence and defensive midfield. Which as we see goes wrong for us.
In the Euros, we needed an Andy Carroll type target man for others to feed off and played more like Leicester did last season. I felt sorry for Kane and Vardy. They got little decent service. Study the goals that were scored in the Euros to see what worked.
