I was a long time lurker but now I am a bona fide user
Currently I am writing an article for a major online site about how the UK digital economy bill surrounding age verification is destined to fail and I would love to know your thoughts?
It's all very good having adult verification but we know a LOT of the material you guys create ends up on Torrent sites. No torrent site is going to do verification of user age. After all, it is all stolen content. If they are breakling the law already they aren't suddenly going to change.
Is there an up side? Apparently someone who runs adult websites thinks it's a good idea (according to the government consultation paper) but conversely every click before entering that credit card number reduces the signups as we know. CC also provide some level of verification already right!
Lastly, what do you US webmasters plan to do about this or are you just going block the UK pervs ;)
I did ask the mods before hand and they approved this.
