Every girl has a different way of looking at it...

Just use common sense... if you are taking her out someplace special to make her feel nice -- obviously it makes no sense to have her pay unless she offers to throw in some money for the tip... I think it's best to not make a big deal about money -- at all costs... going out for a nice evening should never be about money anyway... I think it's sad if a guy has to blow a wad of cash just to get some pussy...

Also here's another situation... Let's say that you make more than her -- she might consider $10 to be her limit for spending on a meal at a restuarant -- and you take her out to a place that has $20 plates... obviously that's not cool to expect her to split 50/50... but I do the same with my friends too.

In general once I'm past the first date I could really give a fuck who pays what and when... Uh but it all depends on how much you like her... my last serious girlfriend had expensive taste in food and we lived in a pricey area (Pasadena) but she was very careful about her diet and cooked very healthy so I was cool with it... Some chicks don't mind Wendy's -- others want to throw down a huge tip because the waitress brought water for the fancy dog... uuuugh...

The way I see it -- having arguments about money is fucking immature...
