If the movie is about killers and kidnappers then 100% of audience are rooting for the kidnapped group trying to escape. There are protagonists and antagonists, nobody is rooting for antagonist.
One man's villan another man's hero works in real life (example Trump and Hitlary), not in action movies where EVERYBODY is rooting for the same side.
