2nd defendant found not guilty of filing a false police report.
Had I been on the jury the 2nd defendant's outcome would weigh in favor of the 1st defendant. It was a matter of present at the scene witnesses. Since the majority were cops we the public were left with cops vs citizens. Yet if the 2nd defendant had been found guilty of filing a false report the 1st defendant was doomed.
However, the 7-5 vote that was NOT in favor of the officer may mean his doom in a civil trial where only 51% of a jury's vote determines fault.
The officer and the Englewood area will eventually have to pay.
