Oh GOOD business advice. Once you know someone is a bigot or racist privately that's a 'personal' decision to associate or not, but when they even remotely associate with their 'business' it can drag you into a liability situation that could make life a livin' hell.
It's only a matter of time before somone who can't separate their personal shit from their business shit goofs up and next thing you know they're hit with a gillion $ lawsuit, you're association with the offender is brought into light and you get caught up in their shit.
It's like when you know someone is a crook and you let em' 'slide'. When they get pinched, guess who'll they'll implicate? That's how most crooks get off in court. They point to the guy who 'knew' but didn't alert the authorities and it becomes part of the plea bargain. I've seen it umpteen times in drug cases when I was covering trials for the news services.
One guy gets busted for buying and carrying dope or weapons yet is riding in the car of or hanging out at the house of the guy who had nothing to do with it but 'knew' of it. The real perp cuts a deal, points the finger at the 'passive' and the prosecutors have a field day with the 'passive' and confiscating all his shit and sending him up on a felony conspiracy charge or something.
Especially in NY State with the long standing Rockefeller laws.
Sucks.
