One hour drive outside of Moscow and thats how typical Russian towns looks like. Rundown buildings, horrible roads, dirt everywhere. Bribing doctors in the hospital, bribing cops. I had to register my whereabouts with local police department because I was presenting "danger" to them. It was like taking a trip back to 1970's. tried to exchange US dollars and they weren't taking them because bills weren't brand spanking new and have been folded. People never smile. Big supermarkets have these goons who pretty much tackle people down if they come in the store with a backpack or a purse. You have to put them up in the locker. In the store you have entire isles with nothing but all kinds of vodka. Some cost a couple of dollars. You see kids out on the streets at 11PM wasted and passed out.
