Anyway, when I was sending them shitloads of traffic they didn't have any problems. They would say "please remove this" or "please remove that". They only got butthurt to the point of closing the account when I stopped sending them traffic and was getting rebills (which they didn't want to pay).

it sounds like you were using domain confusingly similar to mrskin, for example mrskinblog.com, full of mrskin links, banners, etc on it... the copyright holder probably assumed mrskin owns it, that's why mrskin is taking heat, not you...
also, if lawsuit came forward, it would be mrskin under fire, they are indirectly participating in all this and making money from it, plus they are the ones with $$$, not you... it would be pointless to sue you...
