Content production was constant. As soon as a girl was found willing and able. She was put in front of a camera, solo, lesbian or boy/girl. Because demand for new porn was more important then than it has ever been.
The problem was the unquenchable demand and the limited number of suppliers. Photosets like the two B/W photos above would sell 1,000s of times. A roll of B/W film of 24 frames. Could produce 50,000 images that sold for a $1 a piece, then resell after return, for 50 cents.
These were the days the mafia was into porn. Anyone old enough to remember Times Square when it had porn shops?
The good thing was production costs were minimal. A room, Tungsten lights 1 or 2, photographer and models. I got paid a weeks wages for an afternoon's work $30-$50 . Girls got double, photographer no idea. Big earners were the guys in the lab turning out the photos. Working full-time for great wages, cash in hand. I know two who were signing on as well.
The biggest earners were the shop owners. A cartel was funding the whole operation and reselling at huge margins. There are be big companies turning over more today, but nowhere near the profit margins.
My first shoot was a big let down.
