I find it unlikely I will change my political thoughts. I was a Republican, but now I lean Democratic.
With McCain.... He wasn't the right person at the right time. McCain used to be a firebrand and kicked ass, now he is just an old man.
With Romney, well, he was less of the solution and more of the problem - He seems to be a successful businessman but the realty of it is he buys companies using other people's money, charge huge consulting fees, and then walks away if it fails: Romney's team made money if they did good or if they went down in flames. (It's a beautiful business model really.)
After the recession, I look at politics this way.... The ONLY thing that matters to me in Washington DC is the economy. Fighting ISIS, Iran, Syria, healthcare, taxes.... These things have such a small impact on me. Taxes goes up, taxes go down, I do my best to pay as little as possible. Either way I have healthcare. If we put 200k troops on the ground in Iraq in the morning at the end of the day it will have no impact on my life. But the economy is another story. The economy has a huge impact on my daily life and everyone around me.
But what I see right now with Trump is just killing me If McCain was in office I would have been fine with it, same with Romney. Perhaps they could have done better than Obama; We can only hope they would have. But not Trump. Trump will be a disaster.
It sure would be entertaining though.
