The worst part is when you show up at an event and don't know anyone and kind of just wander around alone until some outgoing type introduces themselves. Best solution is to just hang at the bar and engage people there. Everyone loves meeting new affiliates because they're such a rarity. Be prepared for annoying 20 questions about your sites and traffic though.
