I made a few big changes recently. I had some land that I bought a while back and was trying to get the zoning changed. My hope was that I could get it zoned to multi-residential so I could then sell it to someone who would want to develop it into a housing development. Anyway, after some changes with the city's leadership this has become a pain in my ass and I got tired of dealing with it and decided to sell it.
The funny thing is that the city had been hesitant to change the zoning because the land is right next to an upscale housing development and they weren't sure they wanted neighbors that close unless the houses were going to be of the same caliber. I suggested that was something they could take up with the new owner before allowing them to build, but they didn't want to hear that. The buyer I sold to is a farmer. The zoning allows for livestock. The upscale development is about to get a lot of cows as new neighbors.
I also had a classic old Mustang I have been restoring over the course of several years. My dumbshit nephew took it and wrecked it last summer. As I was getting it fixed a guy offered to buy it. I told him I wasn't interested, but recently changed my mind. He was still interested so I sold it to him.
So, nothing that directly affects my business, but a little less clutter and stress in life and some cash in my bank account.
