Saint Dennis (Northern Paris) is a ghetto.
Try renting an apartement, opening a bank account, applying for a job, etc in France and you'll see for yourself how racist it can be. I'm Québécois and the French call us their "cousins" and I was treated with that polite go-away smile more than I was treated with fairness. I imagine how hell it must be for Blacks, Arabs and the Roms en France.
