Religion and Government - that's just a bad thing - but it is reality in most countries and the US is no different. They rather vote for a president who goes to church each sunday and has a torture chamber hidden in his basement than for a level minded person who sees nothing wrong with Porn for Adults, Gay Marriages and Abortion.
