Sure...this proves they exist because we can't contact them.
I am sure that if they did exist they would let us join the cosmic club.
Face it...it is likely that we alone or at least alone as far as intelligent beings. The conditions that lead to the evolution of mammals might never happen again. Sharks have been around for 100 million years and never invented the iPhone. Might well be the case that there is life out there...just putting out a radio signal (sorry but even dolphins can't do that.)
We will never leave this planet. We will go extinct just like 99% of all the species who ever did naturally over time. The only difference is that will be the cause of our own extension either from habitat destruction or biological warfare or simply wiped out by a naturally occurring pandemic that we have no immunity to and can not stop.
