Did Gene Simmons never do drugs or drink? Anything is possible. I would imagine that would be difficult but... Let me put this into perspective.... When I was a kid I was into all kinds of drugs, mostly coke and heroin. I haven't done drugs since the day I joined the military. For a while I had an issue with drinking - I used to be the guy who brought the jagermeister machine to conventions just to ensure everyone got as bombed as me. About six years ago I just quit drinking - no reason, it was just time. Since then... I go to shows, I see people drinking, doing drugs..... Not too difficult for me to pass on both.
