Ok. First, he's crazy if he thinks he can sue Paramount or any other movie company. I don't know much about the movie industry but I know they are tough.
Next, Middlemen sucked. It was an "ok" movie and even got a 6.6 on IMDB, but this is not any kind of big theatrical flick by any means. If Paramount gave it a limited release, its because they knew what they were doing.
According to IMDB, the movie cost $22 Million to make, and earned only $325k in its opening weekend Aug 6th, and only $723k by August 20th. That's pittiful.
Middle Men (2009) - IMDb
It was directed by George Gallo (Who?) who has never directed anything interesting from what I can see. It's a story that few people care about, staring a few actors that are OK supporting actors at best.
I don't know anything about its distribution, but what they should have done is shoot this movie with a TV actor of the week and kept the budget down to a few million. Then it might have been profitable.
