If you compare other countries outside Europe you can see that it isn't easy for western immigrants to get a work permit for other countries also. Sometimes it is easier when you get married. But name some countries where people can live and easy get a work permit... In some countries you must bring at least 100.000 USD and show your financials every 4 years to look if you employ people. Else you can go (if you don't marry or have a child). And so it goes in many countries, if you don't bring money, you are not welcome.

As Dutchman living abroad i also see the problem. If i would marry, i need to do a lot of things to get my wife to Holland... Most go first to Belgium or Italy, where the laws are less strict and than to Holland with a European passport. And that is all because they don't want to discriminate. Holland made stricter rules to prevent families getting relatives to Holland. And they can not make seperate rules for Turkish, Maroccan and Dutch people, that is discrimination. Because some returned to their country (and keeping their wellfare, childsupport) the Dutch government made new rules and said you get only 50 to 70-% of your pensions. 50% if you are single, 70% if you have a partner. (enought to have a good live in Turkey, most of those woman never worked anyway). But because there is no treaty with a lot of other countries like Brazil, mexico and so on, they only give 50% cause they can't check if you have a partner. In short, cause the Turkish and Marrocan people took advantage of the wellfare system, the originally dutch people get fucked by their government. It is even so that i can't have two passports. If i forget to renew or take a foreign passport, i loose mine. That is caue the Dutch government didn't want double nationalities. That was to prevent the immigrant to not integrate and have their heart where they came from. BUT, Turkish and Marrocan people can't give up their passport, forbidden by the country of origin. So who get fucked again, the orginal Dutch people that live abroad. All because else it is discrimination (but the only reasons for the rules was to prevent the Turkish and Marrocan people to come in and get their family to Holland).

So that is one reason why other people from western countries can't get in easily. They made strict rules to prevent more immigration of people with no future, but can not discriminate between people from countries that you want, or don't want.

But there are ways. Like a lot o people from South America have roots in Italy and can get a passport for Italy So than they have two passports and can go where they want in Europe. (yes, they also can have 2 passports). If i give up mine, i don't even get pension. Not that it is much, but it is ridicilous. There are now Dutch people living abroad that lost their Dutch passport, not knowing that they even could loose it.

Even for Backpackers Europe is bad. You can only stay for 3 months in Europe. That is not enough if you want to backpack around Europe. I think they should make that 6 months.

Only Panama and Belize are countries you can immigrate to easily and work. For most European countries you must have a special skill to get a work permit.

So as you can read, it is al connected. Discrimination, discrimination, discrimination. The government don't want more people from Arab countries. That also has a reason.. But refugees are a different problem. But the mass immigration that didn't work out resulted in more strict rules for immigration, even if you are a well educated person. But there are always tricks to get your foreign partner in Holland, you must be creative. And as online worker it would be easy for me to stay some months in Belgium, Italay, or Spain when needed. But i don';t think i will live in Holland soon.
