You still haven't figured out the Geneva Convention was agreed and signed after WW2 because of the levels of destruction during that war..
Those levels of destruction have not since taken place until Russia and Syria started leveling entire cities.
Also I'm pretty certain that no country since Germany in WW2 has invaded another sovereign nation for the purpose of stealing land other than Russia...
