I believe your history is off ... USA bombed the shit out of Hanoi and most of Cambodia and later Baghdad more then once well after 1949.
Also, Geneva convention dates back to 1864. In 1949 were just some protocols added. Please stop getting your history from Facebook and the "bopets" at CNN and really look.
