It looks bad.
Vikingman is right - we obsess over unimportant things while we are failing to keep our infrastructure up to date. We should be investing time, effort, and money into roads, bridges, internet, power, and water.
My town here (population of 50K) has water pipes that are over 100 years old, and some of them are starting to fail. We really have no excuse; We have a huge plant in here in town that makes the damn pipes (Gladding McBean).
