Running From A Sin
by Jamdin
Scattered bodies lie in the rain
As the sirens wail its sorrow.
Everyone that I knew has been slain,
And only I will live to see tomorrow.
Will they be Abel to my Cain?
Lightning flashes in the dark sky
As my tears begin to flow.
I must go without saying goodbye
Before my body starts to glow.
Running footsteps, swirling lights,
And who knows what else haunts me.
I must stand my ground and fight
Before my enemies' souls run free.
I have laughed for a million years,
And I remember my original sin.
My heart no longer hold fear
Since I drowned it in old gin.
