Where I grew up, we had parts of the city that had like 50% turkish people - back in the 1980ties/90ties. Back then it wasn't an issue, it only became one when people with turkish heritage noticed that they can learn and study as much as they want - they still lose against german sounding names when it comes to getting a job.
So the smart ones left to Turkey where they are appreciated due to dual language with high education and the loser stayed and became more and more conservative
I grew up with muslim friends - never been an issue. they party, drink and eat the same way I do - maybe they skip the bacon (not all of them though)
What makes me angry are the hordes of criminal moroccans, algerians, tunesians that try to piggyback on the real refugees - and i have no problem with them being deported right away once they show up at the borders.
