I guess he could do so much better. She was spouting out stuff that goes directly against anything that she ever did in the government or stated as her "private position" behind the closed doors.
He should have been much better prepared and counter more effectively as it was pretty much predictable what will she come up with. That she will try to mask her track record and positions by claiming exactly the opposite.
The good part is that she, with her Russian claims confirmed the actual authenticity of all the leaks. Not sure how many will actually realize that though.
The end message was strong - a polished fake political talk vs. "It can't go on like this anymore, you're either voting for someone who'll continue this or you'll vote for someone who's just as fed up with this as you are".
All and all, I am afraid the only thing that could save him now is the good old "voting the lesser evil". Since there's one that's heavily "promoted as evil" in MSM because he said something, and the other one that is proven to be evil because of what she actually did throughout her well documented life long career in politics aka. corruption, war mongering and double talk.
Not sure if that's going to happen though, the mass media power is very strong and the emotional response will likely again prevail over actual judgment.
