It is possible this is just a benign email, and that hosting a CGI conference is a pretty big deal. Just really odd that if she didnt attend they wanted no part in the meetings. The whole thing, every detail, reeks of influence peddling. Maybe my biased mindset because I think she is a power hungry, greedy piece of dried up self important human debris.

Of course it is influence peddling and it has gone on for a very long time. Why do you think Haliburton paid Dick Cheney all that money to come work for them when the first Bush lost his re-election bid and Cheney was no longer Sec. Defense? They did it because they are a defense contractor and he had tons of contacts and influence in Washington.
It happens constantly. If you are a high ranking government official and you leave office the odds are you will be offered a lot of money by a lot of companies to come work for them. They are paying these people for access.
Hillary was doing just that. At the time of this email, she was a civilian so there is nothing illegal about what she did. However, if it comes out that she did these things while she was Sec. State that is illegal.
