So your argument is that they should be asking more Republicans because more Republicans turned out to vote during the primary elections?
Also, not that many more Republicans voted in the primaries than Democrats.
Total votes cast for Republican candidates - 31.1 million
Total votes cast for Democrat candidates - 30.12 million
When you take into consideration that there are about 146 million registered voters and about 20 states have open primaries that allow independents to vote, that difference in primary votes is pretty small. It also is not a guarantee that all of those people will vote for Trump of the 31.1 million only 14.01 million actually voted for Trump.
And you're correct. My math was off in my previous example.
Also, BTW, I agree that the electoral college needs to go away. It is outdated and encourages corruption.
