Yeah, but if you really have not seen it, give it a go... (1975 Version of course) Its really about being yourself and feeling free to express yourself
Well actually, without reading any prior reviews, I did expect something much better based on the very start.
It was great to see the theater usher character singing the opening theme instead of just the lips and then having the 'cinema' brought into it was interesting. They could have used that to show all the audience interactions that take place at live screenings bit only showed a couple. I knew I wasn't going to like the recasting of Frank, however I felt that without it being an actual bloke in the role, it lost something... Yes I am aware that the girl is a real life transexual but thats beside the point...
I just felt that with an obviously better budget, they could have done a really good tribute to the 75 movie and the stage play with a 'nod and wink' to the fans through out... But alas, no such luck...
I had no problem with the rearrangement musically of some of the songs (Why Not) but in all I was just dissapointed... I am currently now watching the original again, to make myself feel better
