The point is considering the same email team worked on the follow up emails, and only worked on those not identified as duplicates to make the process efficient. It's still very hard to imagine this would be a matter of somebody asking "did you find anything?" and getting an answer "no" then to immediately run to the press and claim that "nothing was found".

Anybody remotely familiar with the FBI investigation process would confirm there's a rigorous procedure to be followed not to mention the approval process in order to conclude / document all the findings.

Plus there's the basic fact that all these government documents were found on the laptop that actually belongs to Weiner, and were there likely stored by Huma Abedin. That itself is already an undisputable proof of actually leaking the government documents.

The fact that this has happened on Sunday before the elections may hint at two things:

1) it was a charade from the start to give HRC a glimpse of "credibility" shortly before the election
2) the intention was genuine but the political pressure too strong so Corney eventually surrendered

Anyway this will likely do little to satisfy the public unless one is a die hard pro-HRC partisan.
