Personally, even though I've always been in the Clinton camp, I agree with him that instead of hurting those people, we should try to reach out to them. The alternative is civil war within 20 years, which I unfortunately think is inevitable. Even if it is bloodless, so to speak, the result will be catastrophic.
People who deride them as racists and hillbillies, etc, are actually the racists themselves.
The principle of vigorous debate, and of being swayed by a logical argument, is nearly dead.
If HRC wins, she'll face a divided country stuck in the mud. I think that is best until we learn to work together again.
