Wow, 54 is the highest number Obama's had this cycle.
His individual number is much more important than the spread.
In states where he's up by 5+ points but only polling at 47-48%, I think it's even money that he loses there.sig too bigComment

Exactly...
He's bound to lose several battleground states. So much more money, advertising sometimes at 10 times the rate as your opponent and up by a percent or two in a state... means it could go any way.
It's possible for him to win all of them, but Murphy's Law tends to come into play in the real world.Comment

Thats what you call even money odds?

The conspiracy theorist tinfoil hat wearer in me says that if the count is close, even the diebold owners are going to tilt it in Obama's favor for the win. I just don't see it in the cards for McCain.
But I've probably been wrong more than I've been right in my life. So, we'll see.Comment

not gonna happen bro..Obama supporters are not stupid. They are not letting the GOP steal another election, so the game is to RUN the numbers UP so fucking high..it will be hard as hell to stealComment

Go fuck yourself.
First of all, I'm far from a right winger. I've been supporting Obama pretty much since he announced his candidacy 20+ months ago.
I've donated money and had my Obama yard sign stolen/vandalized so many times (I live in a very red county of a very red state) that I gave up.
What I'm saying, and alot of pollsters are saying this, is that the undecideds are likely to break heavily for McCain. Alot of the people who say they're undecided are ticket splitters, they're voting for democrats almost across the board, but still say they're undecided on the Presidency.
That most likely means they can't see themselves supporting a black candidate.
So what I said is true....if Obama is only at 47-48% in a certain state (especially a traditionally red state) then it's even money that he'll lose that state, even if he's a few points ahead of McCain in the polls, because of the way the undecideds will break.sig too bigComment

After the last two elections were so close, I doubt it.
Kerry was ahead in the polls going into the weekend last time as well.
Flip 50K votes in Ohio and Kerry is President.
600 more votes in Florida and Gore is President.
I doubt any devoted democrat is going to stay home this time around.sig too bigComment

a) You are an idiot.
b) He could lose every "battleground" and it wouldn't make a shit.

You're beyond wrong.
You people have a serious fucking reading comprehension problem.
I was talking about the individual states where his poll numbers are below 50%....ESPECIALLY those traditionally republican states where his number is below 50%.
I never fucking said that I thought he was going to lose or that it was even money for him to win or lose the election, I was talking about specific states.
Why don't you assholes quit surfing the board looking for a fight and read what people actually write.
If you spent two seconds reading what I wrote instead of jumping on the first person you think you can flame, you would know that I'm not a right winger and I didn't say Obama only had an even money chance of winning the election.
Now go fuck yourselves. Come back when you learn how to read.sig too bigComment
