it's god damn good to see you posting again Squealer
(and to my liberal buddies, don't sweat, I'm savvy enough to realise the context in which the OP is, being fairly liberal myself)
The other thing I think people are missing is that not everyone thinks Trump is the end solution. Ofc some do, but the way I'm seeing it, this election result is just step 1 of solving the problem, the 'rock bottom' that needed to be hit for both main parties to actually bring in real change. Sometimes you have to take a step backwards in order to move forward, and it's rarely the disaster you imagine it will be. 4 years of Trump in order to affect 30/40/50 years of the future? Easily worth it for the kids you already have not old enough to vote yet, even if you have to endure a bunch of tweets you don't like. The population basically being held to ransom by elected officials doesn't make for good living, even if your personal anecdote as part of the 1% (I may be overestimating that number here on gfy I realise) means you yourself were fine 3 months ago.
How anyone with younger - 20 smth aged kids voted for either clinton, or staying in for the UK brexit vote, well - I can't quite wrap my head around that (not to say I dismiss that by any means, I totally get everyone sees literally everything in a unique way), but I sure as shit would have accepted if our UK brexit vote went the other way.
Obviously most people accept the Trump win, and just like 2257, planning permissions, one way streets, and all the rest of it will just adapt as needed, as the business people on here they are. Some are trolling, but fuck, some people here need to seriously put on their big boy pants. It was funny at first, but it's staggering to see the amount of people around who are unable to just actually get on with their lives/business because the result they wanted didn't happen. And that their whining about brexit/trump is exactly why both results went the way they did.
Brexit may be a short term disaster, Trump may be a short time disaster. Neither will be long term ones, and both will ultimately be long term successes becasue of the changes they eventually bring about. Short-sightedness is ramping fear up to insane levels.
....
I write nowhere near as well as Squealer (nor 95% of posters anywhere!), so as always, I probably didn't convey exactly what I wanted to. Sometimes I care about that. On here I rarely do
